Sil and Dan are two of the first friends I made in San Francisco. I was so excited when they asked to do a couple’s session at the Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco.
When I first visited San Francisco in 2019, I saw the Palace of Fine Arts and fell in love with the architecture and surrounding area. It’s one of those things that you just have to see in person. It’s in the perfect location in the city so the late afternoon light is gorgeous. I knew I wanted to shoot there. Fast forward 3 and a half years and I finally got my dream session at this location.
Dan and Sil have been married for 3 years and on her wedding day, she stepped on glass. Their portrait session was cut short, so getting to take these photos for them was super special. I love sessions where it really feels like you’re just hanging out with friends!
This location is ideal because you can walk around it several times and keep stumbling upon new places to shoot. As the light changed, we made our way around the lake. There was no shortage of amazing spots to stop for photos. We even got a little time with the ducks in the lake who were out for an evening swim.
Afterwards, we headed to Chestnut St. for Indian food – a perfect way to end the evening.
