Just before Thanksgiving I had the pleasure of photographing a couples’ session for Matt and Andre in Alamo Square, San Francisco. The Alamo Square area of San Fransisco is such a charming area, full of Victorians and the famous Painted Ladies. Matt and Andre live in the area so we figured it was the perfect location to showcase their love!
Golden hour here just hits different. It’s beautiful on the coast, but in the city you get this cotton candy glow when it’s not foggy. The gradient from blue to pink and orange looks so stunning and photographs really well too. We had the perfect sky and weather for this San Fransisco couples’ session.
Matt told me Andre isn’t much of a cuddler, but something about them together felt warm and cozy and I found that hard to believe. We started the evening on Divisadero at one of their favorite wine bars, and then made our way up the street to Alamo Square Park where we finished the session as the sun set.
One thing I miss about the east coast is FALL and all the colors, but I feel like there are hidden pockets in the city here that really bring out the colors and leaves. The east side of the park is 100% one of those pockets. I highly recommend a visit this time of year!
You don’t need to be celebrating an engagement or anything specific to take advantage of a couples’ session. Being in love is enough of a reason. I promise. Choosing a location sentimental to you is such a great way to commemorate a time in your life.
